Road to RVing

When I was young I camped in a tent.
Then I borrowed my brothers Apache tent trailer.
Then I camped in a 1977 Ford Conversion Van.
After that I took a break from real camping and camping trips were in the backs of pickup trucks.
My next dive into camping was a 1986 Itasca Windcruiser Class A RV
I currently own the Southwind identified in this blog and a 1994 Shadow Cruiser truck camper.
Below you will find information on some of these.

APACHE TENT TRAILER
I took a fantastic vacation out West from St Louis with this.

ITASCA WINDCRUISER
1986 Itasca 28ft Windcruiser.  Here are some pictures of her.  I have included footnotes to show some things I did during her remodel.

Ocean Shores, WA 2004??

Fabricated snap on privacy panel for the door.   Lot easier to use
than the drop down blinds that came from the factory.

Installed seats from a Monaco RV.  Took out a swivel chair and
installed an entertainment center with flat screen
TV, DVD, VCR and surround sound.

Installed mini blinds, ceramic cabinet pulls, clock, coffee pot
and splash guard on counter.  Pictures are ones taken in Hawaii.

Wall papered with color coordinated paper.
Found rug that matched too.

Decorated with color coordinated bedding and padded
wall trim.  Installed decorative wall sconce.

Framed print of one of my flower pictures and a vase of
flowers that warmed up the bedroom.

A new commode, sink, faucets, towel rings, wallpaper and a
built in trash container updated the bathroom nicely.
Small bathroom seemed a little cramped so I split the
wall on the right, hinged it and added locks for
when it was closed.  The shower was on the other side
of the isle so this worked out perfectly.

Older RV air conditioners tend to turn yellowish.  A simple
painting of the cover made quite a difference.

Limited storage space means it is necessary to get creative
with what storage space there is.

SHADOW CRUISER TRUCK CAMPER / FORD F250

I currently also own a 1994 Shadow Cruiser Model 810 Truck Camper mounted on a 1992 Ford F250 XLT.  This was, and I guess still is, a restoration project.  I have a separate blog for it at White Stallion Camper if you want more information.
